A secondary objective of New SADLE is to rehabilitate those cured leprosy cases as well as polio affected, other disabled persons including underprivileged people of Nepal. The rehabilitation in to society is done by providing work in various handicraft skills at our centres.
There we provide products from different sections such as bags, batik, Dhaka, buttons, paper and printing. The centres also serves as on the job training for trainees. New SADLE provides two of these rehabilitation centres. One in Kapan, and one in Kalaiya.
Our social sector is divided into two major projects; New SADLE has conducted socially oriented schools in Kapan, Dhandkhola and Kalaiya named which take student from nursery to grade eight or ten. New SADLE also provides social needs for the elderly people in old age home ‘sewa kendra’. We continue to provide shelter to cured leprosy patients, polio victims and old aged people who cannot work and who have no one else to live with. We provided these people with shelter, food and they also get pocket money every month to spend to their liking. They are provided with regular dressing service for their wounds and also get doctor’s service once a week.
New SADLE’s prime objectives are to cure leprosy affected people, both medical centers in Pharping and Dhandkhola are created with the objective of providing preventive and curative health services to the poor and disadvantaged people of these regions. Initially both started providing health services through a Road-Side Clinic, witch Ddhandkhola clinic still is, but the clinic in Pharping later converted to a Community Health Center. After running a Health Center for some time, Pharing hospital was developed as a community hospital in 2005. Since then both clinic and hospital has been providing health services to approximately 70,000 people of 3 districts, namely: Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Makwanpur.
A very clean, well maintained facility. Good organisation and a great cause!
Many thanks for showing your workshops and projects at Kapan Center. I wish you good luck for your work and god bless you all!
It was an overwhelming and sincere effort to help the affected and support them and give them the ray of hope in their life.
It was an unforgettable visit as it has certainly taught me the lighter side of life.
Keep up all the Godly works! Best wishes!
